In Memory of David Adams

David (Dave) Leslie Adams was born on January 17, 1980 in Calgary to MaryAnne (Stotz) and Leslie (Les) Adams. He grew up in Okotoks before moving to Calgary after he completed high school. During his early years he enjoyed getting into trouble with his brother, Mark, and spending time outdoors camping, skiing and playing football.

In November of 2004 he met his wife, Sabrina (Anderson), via friends of Mark. Sabrina and Dave spent much of that night talking about what they wanted their life to be like and were inseparable since.

In December of 2009, they were married in a simple ceremony attended by immediate family and friends in Airdrie. In May 2010, they welcomed their first child, Daxen and in March 2014 their second son, Seth was born.

Dave enjoyed being outdoors, camping, or spending time at the gun range. He spend many hours talking with his brother about guns they would build, buy and how best to sight in those they already owned. During the winter months he played online games and built an online family.

While Dave didn’t get to accomplish everything he wanted to in his 41 years, he did live the best life possible and made many good friends. He was always willing to provide a helping hand with construction, or provide an opinion on how to smoke food. He was always willing to listen and provide honest feedback, even if it was hard to hear.

While Dave may have struggled to stay connected to everyone he considered a friend, he was there when friends were needed regardless of the time in between.

Unfortunately, Dave lost his battle with glioblastoma brain cancer on April 28, 2021 after being diagnosed in September of 2019. There are so many more stories that can be told. I would like to collect them and possibly put them in a book for the kids. Please share them with me, pictures too.

I have many different hats that I wear. Throughout my life I have been many different things: a small business owner, problem solver, mother, friend, sister, writer, designer, employee, manager, consultant, gamer, leader and many more buzz words that I can't think of. Many of these I still do, but some I have let go to focus more on the here and now. I like to share my experiences, ideas and funny things I run across. Ask me something and I will provide an honest and likely unfiltered opinion. I am still learning about life, myself, relationships, parenting and well everything else. I am not superwoman and don't really have my life together, but I manage and am willing to share my tips and learnings. Writing for me can be cathartic and sharing makes us not feel so alone in this crazy, mess of a world we currently inhabit.
