Episode 1: Recap

Winner of RSI’s Aurora MKII Contest, Dietrich Falkennov is required as part of the conditions of winning the contest to share his new life with viewers via live stream interactions and broadcasting his daily experiences in his new Aurora MKII. Spectrum Dispatch carries the stream and encourages viewers to interact with Dietrich by asking questions about what he is doing, where he is going, what there is to do in space, and even encouraging him to try new things. His comms are open and waiting.

In his first broadcast we witnessed his initial introduction to the ship. He started with some basic flight mechanics as he learned how the ship functioned and what the modules did as part of the package. He caught onto being a pilot quickly and progressed towards becoming an independent cargo hauler, learning that hauling even small amounts of cargo can make a lot of money fast.

However, in doing the cargo hauling Dietrich found that some contracts had the items they indicated and some didn’t. This became frustrating as more contracts seemed to be faulty or false as the day went on. This lead to him trying something else different, investigation contracts.

Investigation contracts were a bit more risky, but still paid a decent amount for simple work. The first contract was very easy, but the second required a bit more skill and the ability to defend yourself in the ship. He still seemed to have fun and enjoy trying new things and the ship, when not trying to kill him due to no atmosphere inside when it should have, treated him well.

He got to experience some new foods, like noodles, burritos and pizza, even though some of the sellers were a bit shady. He also explored new stations throughout the day and we can’t wait to see what he will get up to tomorrow.

I have many different hats that I wear. Throughout my life I have been many different things: a small business owner, problem solver, mother, friend, sister, writer, designer, employee, manager, consultant, gamer, leader and many more buzz words that I can't think of. Many of these I still do, but some I have let go to focus more on the here and now. I like to share my experiences, ideas and funny things I run across. Ask me something and I will provide an honest and likely unfiltered opinion. I am still learning about life, myself, relationships, parenting and well everything else. I am not superwoman and don't really have my life together, but I manage and am willing to share my tips and learnings. Writing for me can be cathartic and sharing makes us not feel so alone in this crazy, mess of a world we currently inhabit.
